Discussion of Mali begins at 2:42.
This podcast discusses how climate change and drought serve as a multiplier of conflict in both Syria and Mali.
The biggest Malian/Malian-American populations in the United States are in New York CIty, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Chicago and Baltimore. There are said to be roughly 20,000 people of Malian descent in NYC, 8,000 residing in the Bronx.
Given this information I focused primarily on newspapers in these cities, decinding that perhaps there locations could be more likely to include stories on Mali.
